My Story
I consider myself one of the most renowned professionals at Dhulikhel Hospital. I have treated hundreds of patients, from all over Nepal, especially rural areas. Yet there’s one patient I met while working at Dhulikhel Hospital that completely changed the course of my life and gave me a sudden revelation.
It went like this — one day, a patient came to him, suffering from lymphatic filariasis, a third degree heart attack, and his heart was beating at an unnatural rate of 40-45 beats per minute. The patient was admitted to the ICU. But one night, the patient’s health suddenly deteriorated.
At that moment, I was at a complete loss. I had never seen such a case before. All I knew was that I needed to do everything in his power to save this patient’s life. At Dhulikhel Hospital, saving lives is the greatest goal. So, with a deep breath, I performed CPR on the patient, and as though it were a miracle, the patient was brought back to life. As he slowly opened his mouth to speak, he gratefully told me that it was as if he had given him life once again.
